Evening - Hello everyone!!! I recently visited Mandovi Resort, Shiroda. It was an amazing and one of the soothing experiences. We were a group of 10 peoples. Everyone reached at 7 pm in the evening on 9th Dec.  A lush green lawn with the trees around and river beside had a peace environment. We were welcomed by a cup of tea which had a fragrance of Tea Leaves (Me who doesn't drink tea at home, felt an urge to have it at that moment.) We had a chit chat for a while, played some games and then the dinner was set at 9pm. Everyone had a priorly demanded for Biryani. So, Mrs. Shweta Hule Ma'am and family prepared Veg Biryani, Batatyachi Kapa for Vegetarians and Prawns Biryani, Surmai Fry for Non Vegetarians and delicious Koshimbir was served. Dinner was served in the dining room, everyone preferred to sit down on floor in circular arrangement and have food. Everyone was too happy while eating the delicious warm dinner served with the love by Mrs. Shweta Hule Ma'am. For desert, we had a Rajbhog Kulfi and then we took a shore walk. Although, we experienced the cool breeze from the beach side. After some while after returning to resort, we freshened up and then again gathered in the lawn for some discussion. Rooms at Mandovi, were very much cleaned and spacious with AC/non AC preference. Mrs. Shweta Ma'am said to be ready in the Morning at sharp 6 am for Mangrove safari. Morning- I had a very warm and comfortable sleep at this place. Got up and then i was quick ready till 6am whereas everyone gathered outside the rooms. The hot tea was served and then we moved for the Mangrove safari. Swamini Bachat Gath Mahila were ready to take us on the ride. 2-3 more peoples joined us on this ride. The boat was set to ride now, everyone entered into the boat one by one. The boat was rowing in the hands of women of Swamini Bachat Gath, which was worth noticing. It was 6 :15 am in the morning. The water was still, all we could hear was the mild waves of water, chirping of birds and sound of trees due to air. Mangrove trees like Sonnertia Alba, Hura crepitans, Rhizophore mucronata, Bruguiera cylindrica, etc were shown and explained with medicinal uses by the women. The birds like Greater Coucal (Pan kavala), white herons, black headed herons, kingfisher, sparrows etc were seen. To the attraction was Asian palm civet (pan manjar) diving in the water and eating fish. We took a 1 hour ride from the boat, did the rowing myself, clicked many pictures with the group. All over it was super fun and peace giving ride. Taking a moment to appreciate the knowledge of Swamini Bachat women who gave us the information about the Mangroves, its conservation and Biodiversity. We returned to the resort and delicious breakfast of Pohe and Chai was served on the table. While having breakfast we got introduced to Mrs. Terawdekar Ma'am Registrar at Tehsildar, Sawantwadi who joined us for the ride at Mangrove Safari. She guided us by the all over experience of her job ,life, family and spirituality. She has got a very warm and familiar personality. At around 10 am we all were set to go home and bid a happy goodbye to Mrs. Shweta Hule Ma'am and Family.

We arrived around 9:30 AM for the boat ride and were accompanied by four wonderful ladies. Priyanka and Gouthami rowed the boat effortlessly, while Ayesha and Radhika guided us through the safari. They were very informative and shared interesting details about the mangrove trees and birds. Since it was low tide, we couldn’t go very deep inside, but we got down, explored a bit, and took some lovely pictures. We also had the chance to meet Ms. Shwetha, who runs the safari—she was extremely kind, warm, and friendly. Truly a hidden gem and a must-visit for nature lovers 🌿🛶
