Best place for authentic seafood in Malvan! The Surmai dish here is 10/10—fresh, spicy, and cooked to perfection. If you're looking for high-quality fish and traditional flavors, Konkan Kesari is the spot. Don't miss out on their Solkadhi and ukdiche modak too.
Excellent seafood and authenticate Konkani recipes We tried surmai thali, populate thali, prawns fry and Amboli. All had a great taste. What we observed they don't use any artificial colour. The restaurant's kitchen run by a lady which is nice and clean. Our children loved the Amboli with chutney and also prawns. Must try.....
A Perfect Blend of Comfort and Authentic Taste. Our stay at this hotel-cum-homestay was truly a delightful experience. The place offers the perfect balance of homely warmth and hotel-like comfort. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well maintained, making us feel relaxed throughout our stay. What truly sets this place apart is the authentic food. Every meal was prepared with love and traditional flavors of Maharashtrian cuisine. A special mention must go to the Ukadiche Modak hands down.. the best I’ve had in a long time.
Unexpectedly landed up here & what a surprise! Each & every thali was 100% satisfying. The Surmai, pomfret, prawns everything was cooked to perfection. The chapatis were sumptuous & the solkadhi was just right. The proprietors are polite & helpful.. Must, must visit if you're in the area.
Absolutely loved the food here! We tried the Malvani Amboli — it was soft, warm, and perfectly spiced, just like a local breakfast should be. The Ukdiche Modak was fresh, sweet, and delicious, with a great coconut filling and just the right texture. The service was friendly and quick. Ambience was pleasant and clean. A must-visit for authentic Malvani cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone wanting local flavours!
Authentic Malvani Hospitality at its Best! I have been meaning to write this review for a long time, as the experience at Kokan Kesari truly stayed with me. If you are in Tarkarli and craving authentic seafood, this is a must-visit. The restaurant is run by a lovely couple who make you feel right at home with their warm hospitality and incredible cooking. Breakfast: You cannot miss the Ghavan Chatni. The Ghavans are soft, lacy, and perfectly complemented by their flavorful chutney. It’s the best way to start your morning! Seafood: The seafood here is exceptionally fresh. We tried the Saundala, Prawns, Tisarya (Clams), Surmai, crab and pomfret. Every fish was cooked to perfection with traditional Malvani masalas. This review was long overdue, but the taste of their food is something you don't forget. Highly recommended for anyone looking for home-style, delicious, and fresh seafood in Tarkarli!
We had an amazing homestyle meal here with outstanding quality and generous quantity. We tried the Pomfret fish thali and the Surmai thali, and both were cooked to perfection — fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic Malvani taste. The solkadhi was the most refreshing we’ve had, perfectly balanced and soothing after the meal. A special mention to Didi, who prepared the food with so much care and love — it genuinely felt like a home-cooked meal, and honestly some of the tastiest food we’ve had in Malvan. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, homestyle Malvani seafood made with heart. We’ll definitely be back! Don’t miss their modak — soft, fresh, and absolutely delicious, the perfect end to a wonderful meal. We forgot to take pictures in flavour of tasty food.
