Happiness Estate - Farmstay and Foodforest

If you are like us, who are always on the lookout for offbeat destinations, then Happiness Estate will not disappoint you. Nestled in quaint Sawantwadi, some 40kms away from North Goa this farm stay is built amidst a forest. We admired the attention paid to make the place sustainable and ecofriendly. Most importantly, Vikrant, who owns and manages Happiness Estate, made sure that local communities are benefitted from tourism. Most of the resources that you will see at the property, be it crockeries to fruits are locally sourced or produced. We stayed in one of the tastefully done Forest Cottages. Don't miss out on artworks like Warli painting and Chitrakatha done by local artisans of Thakkar community. You could also visit the museum and participate in a workshop. As a part of the stay experience, we got to go on a boat ride with local fisherwomen at the crack of dawn and also visit the wooden toy market. Coming to food, we would highly advise everyone to opt for lunch and dinner at the property. Without any exaggerations, we had some of the best seafood meals prepared by a local chef. While you are at the property, make sure that you explore everything that is at your disposal. We enjoyed our evening coffee from our cottage garden, saw the sunset from the poolside, and soaked in all the silence the wilderness had to offer. Finally, the best part of our stay at the Happiness Estate has been it's inhouse Chief Happiness Offices – Bhuri. She is the most awesome, loving, happy and huggable dog we have ever encountered.

This was our first outing post lockdown so we were very excited but cautious at the same time as to how would everything turn out. But our host Mr Vikrant Nath made is extremely safe and a memorable trip. The place is just too good, green forests, peaceful, awesome food, most hygenic with clean rooms and exceptional hospitality. Not to mention the support staff Johnson and maxi took utmost care in the presence of chief happiness officer ms bhuri the pet.... Really recommend it to everyone for must visit destination and estate. Thanks Vikrant for being such a great host and making us feel like a family

We found this property randomly and we are glad that we found it and stayed there. This is one amazing property with greenery all around. This is around 20 acres property which is 90% jungle with variety of trees and birds. The rooms are quite good, there are 2 types of room one new one and then the old residential property converted into 2 rooms. All rooms are quite good and specious. Old property is interconnected so if you have big family then this will be quite good option. Food is simply amazing, it's fresh, homely and delicious. We ate more then usual it was that good and the freshly prepared ice creams for desert was cherry on cake. You will definately be relaxed and rejuvenated here. The name is quite apt, one will be quite happy staying here and sad while leaving. Staff Johnson his family and Micky is very kind, helpful and caring, Johnson wife make super delicious and simple food. I will definitely recommend and would love to stay here again.

I hosted my art retreat at Happiness Estate in Jan 2020. It is a quiet place in a small town of Sawantwadi, north of Goa. Lovely green views, great local food, chirpy birds, rustling coconut leaves. Vikrant is a great host. Bhuri is his lovely dog and a great pal... If you want a vacation which is quiet in the real sense then Happiness Estate is your go to place...

The place is very nicely blended into the nature and the landscape is very beautiful. If you're a nature lover you'd definitely enjoy the place. It is really good for spotting different bird species. The staff is very polite and helpful, they really made a difference in the stay. Last but not the least the food was absolutely amazing. Home cooked food on a vacation is the best thing that could happen to any health conscious person like me.
