It truly offers a warm and welcoming experience. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel like part of their family. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making them perfect for a relaxing coastal getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was the home-cooked food. Every meal was freshly prepared with love, using local ingredients and traditional recipes. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding — flavorful, authentic, and served hot. Even simple vegetarian dishes were packed with taste and felt just like home. The property is located in a peaceful area, just a short walk from the beach, making it ideal for morning strolls and sunset views. The hosts were always available for any assistance, including arranging transport and guiding us to local spots. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place with great food and genuine hospitality, Acharekar's Home Stay is a wonderful choice. Highly recommended!

Host Mr. Acharekar is a wonderful person, a former Project manager who had worked abroad for several years, understands the needs and is very supportive. Rooms are clean and basic. He can organize any needs swiftly. Location is not exact in the map. Please call before arriving

Such a nice experience in Malwan we get while we stay at Achrekar's home stay. Hospitality from Kaka is so much nice and noticeable. Tasty and delicious food they deliver in their hotel. And that hotel is so much near to sea.

Budget Stay That Falls Short on Cleanliness, Food, and Beach Safety The Good Affordable pricing: At under ■2,000 per night, the stay is very reasonably priced and offers good value for budget-conscious travellers. Accommodative owner: Although the official checkout time was 10:00 AM, our train was scheduled for the evening. Mr. Archerekar kindly allowed us to retain the room until 2:00 PM, as there were no other bookings that day. This flexibility was much appreciated. Free WiFi: Complimentary WiFi is provided, which proved to be a major advantage. Given that Jio mobile network connectivity is virtually non-existent in this region, the WiFi was truly a lifesaver. The Bad Food arrangements: Meals are no longer served within the homestay premises. Instead, the owners run a separate hotel that caters to the general public. This is one of the very few food options in the area (others being roadside or beachside stalls), which significantly limits choice. The hotel is about a 500-metre walk from the house, and service is extremely slow—though this seems to be common in the region. The most inconvenient aspect is the late opening time: the hotel opens at a relaxed 10:00 AM, meaning breakfast is typically not available before 10:45 AM. Lack of cleanliness: The premises appeared poorly maintained, with plastic bottles and used polythene bags scattered around. Just outside the rooms, there was a large pile of empty water bottles dumped on the floor, which remained uncleared throughout our three-night stay. Minimal service: Basic amenities and services—such as drinking water bottles, fresh towels, room cleaning, or housekeeping—are not provided unless explicitly requested. The Ugly Perceived rudeness: Personally, I found the owner’s communication style to be rude and bordering on arrogant. This is a subjective perception, and others may have a different experience. Unpleasant beach environment: The nearby beach is frequently dominated by loud, unruly groups of bachelors using abusive language and creating a general sense of disorder. This atmosphere makes the area decidedly unsuitable for families or those seeking a peaceful beach experience. Dirty and unsafe beach: The beach itself is among the dirtiest in the Malvan region, with plastic waste littered extensively across the sand. Compared to cleaner and more pleasant beaches such as Devbagh, Chivla, or Tarkarli, this beach falls far short. It is not suitable for leisurely walks, as vehicles—including cars, trucks, and even buses—drive directly on the beach, making it unsafe for pedestrians. The situation is further aggravated by numerous stray dogs, which makes walking after sunset particularly uncomfortable and risky. Additionally, the path from the house to the hotel is a narrow kaccha road that becomes dark after sunset and is frequented by barking stray dogs. Conclusion If you are visiting Malvan, it is advisable to stay near better-maintained beaches, even if it means paying slightly more. The improved cleanliness, safety, and overall experience are likely to justify the additional expense.

We stayed at Acharekar Homestay for 3 days, and the atmosphere felt just like staying at our own home. The family members are very warm, kind, and welcoming—it truly feels like being with your own family. Acharekar uncle also has his own hotel located right near the beach, where we had our breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food was very tasty and felt completely home-style. We also did water activities through Acharekar uncle, and the overall experience was amazing. Overall, if you are planning to visit Konkan, I would definitely recommend staying at Acharekar Homestay. It’s an amazing and memorable experience.
